Assistant Bar Manager. The Malton, Killarney is now recruiting for an experienced Assistant Bar Manager to join our Food and Beverage Team. Main Duties and Responsibilities. To oversee cash and stock control consistently according to company policy. To ensure that mise-en-place are prepared according to bar standards. To be involved in the setting of service and quality standards, and to monitor and strive for their achievement. To monitor, anticipate and react to customer needs consistently to ensure maximum guest satisfaction. To pay attention to detail in all aspects of the customer journey. To take prompt action to resolve complaints according to company policy. To build positive relationships with clients/guests to ensure customer satisfaction. To lead the team by example. To coach individual team members to develop their skills and maximise performance. To give clear direction and guidelines to team members. To assist in the resolution of performance problems as necessary and in line with company policy. To motivate and be proactive in encouraging team commitment and spirit. To delegate and manage the distribution of workload effectively. To ensure that the appearance of team members is in accordance with company policy. To ensure that rosters are completed in the absence of the bar manager. To supervise the department in a fair, consistent and responsible way. To assist the Bar Manager in the smooth running of the department. To assist in ensuring that the department complies with all statutory and legal requirements including fire, Health and Safety etc. To ensure staff are aware of relevant company policies. Supervision and training of bar team. Cashing up and float knowledge. The ideal candidate: Excellent communication skills. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy 4 or 5 star hotel. Customer focused and target driven. Proactive nature with an outgoing and friendly personality. Strong leadership skills and the ability to build a rapport with our guests. An organised approach to work with an ability to manage several different events / parties / groups at once. Fluent English is essential. The ability to perform under pressure.
