This hands-on position with a growing multinational company based in Kerry encompasses management of the maintenance and repairs for all production machines and ancillary equipment in the factory to ensure the smooth running of production. The candidate will ideally be a qualified electrical engineer / electrician and a good technical all-rounder. Previous work experience should not be confined to electrical: the individual should have worked in a maintenance position in a manufacturing environment and have had exposure to pneumatics, hydraulics, etc. Experience in injection moulding machines would also be a distinct advantage. Duties will include the following: Organise and plan maintenance to ensure minimum disruption to production. Implement and amend maintenance and repair programmes for all production machines and ancillary equipment. Cost and Efficiency: Review existing systems, identify systems to upgrade or automate - make recommendations to Management. Where approval is granted, implement new systems in a cost-effective manner. Give direction in stocking of equipment spares, working closely with the administration department in the ordering of spares. Supervise maintenance personnel to ensure effective and efficient work performance, including day-to-day supervision of maintenance personnel. Supervise the installation and set-up of new production machines and equipment. Oversee trouble shooting and fault finding; provide technical training and support to the maintenance team. Comply with company policy and procedures and ensure that all health and safety, cleanroom and hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times. Keep Management informed of issues and concerns in a timely manner. The individual will have a strong work ethic and will have the ability to prioritise work in a very busy environment. Organisational, planning, decision-making and effective communication skills are necessary to fulfil this role. Remuneration is dependent upon qualifications and industry experience.
